Established in 1963, we have evolved from a modest 24-member choir into a vibrant, 100-strong symphonic choir that draws members from across the Niagara Region and beyond. Under the artistic direction of Robert Cooper, we are known for our diverse repertoire that span traditional and contemporary works, reflecting the rich tapestry of our community and the broader world of choral music.
Chorus Niagara is more than just a choir; we are a community of music lovers committed to entertaining, educating and inspiring audiences of all ages. Join us as we continue to hit new highs and create memorable experiences. Your support, whether through membership, attendance at our concerts, or generous donations, allow us to keep singing.
After thirty-four years of inspired leadership with Chorus Niagara, Robert Cooper announces that his tenure as Artistic Director will come to a close at the end of the 2024/2025 concert season.
Chorus Niagara Children’s Choir (CNCC) is a growing part of the Chorus Niagara family that offers children in the Niagara region the opportunity to develop their musical knowledge, build relationships and share their love of music with others.
Choir members receive a broad musical education which includes sight-singing, ear training, music theory and vocal technique. CNCC has four choirs for children and youth: Training, Intermediate, Concert, and Chamber Choirs. These choirs sing separately and together, learning and performing music that is appropriate for their age and skill level.
CNCC perform in their own concerts and have had the honour of performing with international artists such as Measha Brueggergosman and Pavlo Simtikidis. The CNCC enjoys many performances with accomplished groups such as Chorus Niagara, the Niagara Symphony Orchestra and Bravo Niagara! Festival of the Arts. The CNCC Chamber Choir was invited to perform a cameo concert at the prestigious Podium national choral festival in May 2020. The CNCC Concert Choir won a gold award at the national competition MusicFest Canada in 2018 and 2023. CNCC performed in the virtual music video “We Are the World” presented by Bravo Niagara Festival for the Arts, with over 150 prominent artists from across Canada. They are frequent performers at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines. The Concert Choir performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City under the direction of internationally renowned conductor Elena Sharkova in June 2023.
